Service Overview
Water pressure has more than one cause
A booster pump increases water pressure where the supply alone is not enough — for example, in upper floors, villas with roof tanks or properties with several bathrooms in use at the same time.
Low pressure is not always caused by the pump. Blocked filters, partially closed valves, leaks, tank levels or the supply itself can also be responsible, so the first step is understanding where and when the problem occurs.

Common Problems
Pressure and pump problems
What you notice at the tap or around the pump can help narrow down the issue.

Low water pressure
Weak flow from taps and showers, especially on upper floors or when more than one outlet is in use.
Inconsistent flow
Pressure that surges and drops, or changes noticeably throughout the day.
Unusual pump noise
Grinding, humming, rattling or the pump running when no water is being used.
Controller issues
The pump switches on and off rapidly, fails to start, or does not stop when taps are closed.
Maintenance
Pumps that have run for a long time without inspection, or are installed in hot, dusty plant areas.
Not every low-pressure problem is caused by the booster pump. Valves, filters, leaks, tank levels and the supply itself are also considered.
What We Cover
Booster pump services
Covering the pump, its controller and the pressure problems that lead people to enquire.
Booster Pump Installation
Installation of booster pumps for properties that need additional water pressure, including connection to the water supply, tank and electrical supply.
Booster Pump Repair
Diagnosis and repair of pumps that will not start, run continuously, cycle on and off, leak or make unusual noises.
Booster Pump Replacement
Replacement of pumps that have failed or are no longer suitable for the property’s demand, with the new pump connected to existing pipework where possible.
Water Pressure Problems
Investigation of low or inconsistent water pressure to establish whether the pump, pipework, valves, filters or supply is the likely cause.
Pump Controller Services
Checking and replacing pressure switches, flow controllers and pressure vessels that control when the pump starts and stops.
Booster Pump Maintenance
Periodic inspection of the pump, controller, connections and pressure vessel to help maintain steady performance.
The Process
A step-by-step pressure assessment
The aim is to understand where pressure is lost before deciding what work is needed.
- Step 1
Describe the pressure issue
Tell us which outlets are affected, on which floors, and whether it happens all the time or only at certain times.
- Step 2
Share photos of the pump
Photos of the pump, controller and any visible pipework help with an initial understanding.
- Step 3
Assessment
The pump, controller, connections and related plumbing are checked to identify the likely cause.
- Step 4
Recommended next step
Repair, adjustment, replacement or a different plumbing fix is discussed, depending on the findings.
Why Enquire With Us

FAQ
Booster pump FAQ
Installation, low pressure, repair, controllers, maintenance and assessment.
No. Low pressure can also come from blocked filters, partially closed valves, leaks, low tank levels or the supply itself. An assessment looks at the wider system before deciding on a fix.
Yes. Booster pump installation is covered. The property layout, number of outlets and existing tank arrangement are considered when choosing and installing a pump.
Rapid cycling is often linked to a pressure switch, controller or pressure vessel issue, or a leak in the system. These components can be checked and repaired or replaced.
Grinding, humming or rattling can indicate worn components, air in the system or a pump running dry. The pump is inspected to determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
Periodic inspection of the pump, controller and connections can help maintain steady performance, particularly for pumps installed in hot or dusty plant areas.
The pump, controller, pressure vessel, connections and relevant plumbing are checked, and the findings and recommended next step are explained to you.
